The Truth About UVC Output
Most of our tubes hit that 253.7nm peak emission. That’s the sweet spot for actually breaking DNA bonds and getting the job done. But here’s the catch: the glass matters. We use high-purity synthetic quartz so the shortwave UV can actually get out. If the quartz isn’t pure, the bulb looks fine to your eyes, but the sterilization rate falls off a cliff. You end up with a lamp that glows, but doesn’t actually kill anything.That’s a waste of money.
